LandMan
Privacy Policy
Effective 19 June 2026 · Last updated 19 June 2026
LandMan is a station-management mobile app and website operated by Bellator Park
Pty Ltd (ABN to be added on registration), based in Queensland, Australia
("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what we collect, why, what we do with it,
and the rights you have over your data under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)
and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. What we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Account details: email address, password (hashed via Supabase Auth), and a name you provide.
- Station data: property name, paddock boundaries, mob and cattle records (including NLIS / RFID tags, breed, weight, treatment logs, deaths), assets (gauges, bores, tanks), vehicles, jobs, photos you upload and notes you write.
- Crew details: if you invite workers, their email addresses, names, and role within your station.
1.2 Information we collect automatically when you use the app
- Location data: when you grant permission, your device's GPS coordinates are used to centre the map, drop pins, attach to jobs / markups / safety check-ins, and (during an active "shift" you start) track your route for the crew-safety feature. Foreground location is required for basic mapping; background location is used only when you have an active shift and only for safety alerts.
- Photos: the photos you choose to attach (NLIS tags, damage, paddock states, smoko posts). Photos are stored in your station's Supabase Storage bucket and only accessible to members of your station.
- Device data: the Expo push notification token tied to your account, so we can send safety alerts and reminders.
- Crash and performance data: via the Expo / EAS platform's standard error reporting, used solely to fix bugs.
1.3 What we do NOT collect
- We don't access your contacts, calendar, microphone, or arbitrary files.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't sell or rent any of your data to third parties for advertising. Ever.
2. How we use it
- To run the app's features: maps, paddocks, cattle records, jobs, safety, vegetation overlays.
- To sync your station's data across your own devices and to the workers you have invited.
- To send transactional emails (password resets, invitations, billing receipts).
- To send push notifications you opt into (safety alerts, missed check-ins, panic alarms, reminders).
- To improve the app — only via aggregated, de-identified usage patterns. We do not look at individual stations' data for analytics.
3. Who can see your station's data
Each station is private by default. Only users you have invited as members of that
station can read or modify its data — enforced both in the app and at the database
layer via Postgres row-level security policies. We (the LandMan team) only access
individual station data when you give explicit consent (e.g. for a support ticket
you raised), or as required by law.
4. Where your data lives
- Database: Supabase Postgres, hosted on AWS in
ap-southeast-2 (Sydney). Your station data does not leave Australia.
- Photo storage: Supabase Storage, same region.
- Auth: Supabase Auth (also Sydney). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; we never see your plain-text password.
- App distribution: Apple App Store / TestFlight (US-hosted by Apple). Apple may collect their own diagnostics under their privacy policy.
- Push notifications: sent via Expo's push service (US-hosted by Expo). Only the push token and the notification body are transmitted.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your station data for as long as your account is active. If you delete
your account, all data in that station is permanently deleted within 30 days,
except where we are legally required to retain a copy (e.g. tax records for
payments). Backups are rotated out within 90 days.
6. Your rights
- Access: you can export your full station data as GeoJSON + CSV from Settings → Export at any time.
- Correct: all your data is editable in-app.
- Delete: from Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@landmanapp.com.au. We honour deletion requests within 30 days.
- Complain: if you believe we have mishandled your data, contact us first. If unresolved, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
7. Children
LandMan is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect
data about children. Workers invited under a station's plan must be 16 or older.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make material changes that
affect your rights or how we use your data, we'll notify you by email at the
address on your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
9. Contact
Privacy questions, deletion requests, or anything else: privacy@landmanapp.com.au.
